16. How do I pay my account?
1. Your doctor will start your admission process by completing
a Pre-admission “booking in” form. You may then
need to attend the Pre-admission clinic (see here).
Sometimes this is not required and your doctor will liaise
with the hospital directly (in some surgical cases and for
medical admissions). If you are transferring from another
hospital, the hospital department you are located in will
organise your admission on your behalf. Maternity patients
are required to book into the hospital after receiving a Pre-admission
form from your Obstetrician.

your procedure/ operation can be performed here.

Ask you doctor if you have any other questions.
5. This varies for every person and situation. Talk to
your doctor to receive an estimate.
6. Please bring your current medications in their original packages
(including vitamins, mixtures, creams, inhalers and drops)
with you into hospital. If possible, please also bring a list
from your doctor of your current medications, their strength
and dosages. These medications should be given to the nurse
looking after you on admission.
7.Keira (Surgical) and Kembla (Medical) wards:
10:00am to 12:00pm
2:00pm to 5:00pm and
6:30pm to 8:00pm
Intensive Care Unit:
10am -12pm and 4pm – 8pm.
Rest period 12pm – 4pm (please refrain from visiting at this time).
Maternity/ Surgical (Nareena) ward:

8. It is important that you do not drive for a minimum of 24
hours after your procedure/ operation as you may be still
be affected by anaesthetic drugs.
9. If you need a doctor’s certificate, it will be supplied
by your doctor on discharge.
10. Many patients admitted to Figtree Private Hospital are not
insured. You can ask your doctor to be admitted here. Costs
associated with your treatment will be estimated for you before
admission.
11. We do not have offer an Emergency service. All of our admissions
are elective and are made by request of an approved Specialist.
Some of these admissions may be after hours, however if you
become acutely ill you should visit your nearest Public Hospital
Emergency Department.

13. We request that mobile telephones are not used within the
hospital as they may interfere with patient monitoring equipment.
14. Smoking is not permitted within the hospital. There are designated
smoking areas outdoors.
15. Unfortunately we can not accommodate family members
(excepting one parent during the overnight stay of an infant
