Birthing Suite

  • Ante-natal record (buff coloured card)
  • Camera (still)
  • Old nightgown or T-shirt for giving birth in (optional and please note you may be required to wear a gown if going to theatre).
  • Socks
  • Magazines, newspapers, books.
  • Small amount change for items from the coffee shop and public phone
  • Massage oils, relaxation music, personal music player.
  • Chapstick for lips
  • Telephone list
  • Toiletries

Nareena ward

  • Your current medications in their original packages (including vitamins, mixtures, creams, inhalers and drops). If possible, please bring a list from your doctor of your current medications, their strength and dosages.
  • Glasses, hearing aids or other aids
  • Medicare Card, Private Health Fund card, Pension/ Concession of Pharmaceutical Entitlement Cards
  • Payment if required
  • Sleepwear, dressing gown and slippers, comfortable day time clothing
  • Personal toiletries including soap, toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Small amount of change for newspapers etc
  • Reading material
  • Notepad/ writing paper
  • Maternity sanitary pads (at least 2 packs)
  • Maternity bras (at least 2)
  • Formula bottles and sterilising equipment (if required)
  • Clothes for you and your baby to wear home, nappy, singlet, outfit, wrap, bonnet and booties.

What not to bring

  • Jewellery
  • Large amounts of cash
  • Other valuables

  • Unnecessary clothing and luggage
